The folks who make up Toronto’s Alvvays have been involved in the music industry for some time, as the five-piece lineup includes Rankin Family offspring Molly Rankin, former Two Hours Traffic member Alec O’Hanley and Danks drummer Phil MacIsaac, plus Kerri Maclellan and Brian Murphy. In the coming months, the musicians will continue to make headway with their latest project as they hit the road in advance of their upcoming self-titled debut album.
The impending record was produced by Canadian studio whiz Chad VanGaalen at his Yoko Eno studio in Calgary. It was mixed by Holy Fuck member Graham Walsh and indie super-producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile). It will come out via Hollerado’s label, Royal Mountain Records.
