Eleanoora Rosenholm
Hyvaile Minua Pimea Tahti [Fonal,2011]

Eleanoora Rosenholm are Finnish octet coming from a small city of Pori to bring more approachable and understandable music to awesome Fonal records. Eleanoora is their fictive character of gloomy, maybe disturbed housewife who is on her killing spree. After two unexpectedly attractive and catchy records, their Eleanoora escapes to the city of dark star to continue with her murderous intentions. Her new stories are captured on Hyväile minua pimeä tähti (translated as Caress Me, Dark Star) which is promised to be darker and even more dramatic.
Its first single, Valo kaasumeren hämärässä (possibly translated as The light of gas marine in the twilight) runs deep into the darkness and with cute and aptly soft 80’s synths creates chilling haze that rises to anthemic highs before the end. Noora Tommila sounds both tender and whispery, as if this song was the kiss of death for the listener. The video footage directed by Sami Sänpäkkilä, multi-instrumentalist and the founder of Fonal Records and experiments both with the portrait format and the use of light, screening and balances between drama and meditation. Valo kaasumeren hämärässä sounds as you were sitting in cinema watching a breathtaking portray of regret, sorrow and a courage to go even further.
