Palma Violets-180(2013)

A week or so ago, the Alabama Shakes manager tweeted that she couldn’t stop listening to Palma Violets. Being that I think she has pretty good taste in music, I checked them out and low & behold – they’re pretty fucking awesome. As if vindication was needed, Craig Finn tweeted the same thing today.
Palma Violets are a four piece band out of England. They formed around a campfire when Sam Fryar and Chilli Jesson decided to be pals. You’ll hear people reference The Mats, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, etc. I haven’t gotten that far yet so check them out for yourself but I am sure the English press has hailed them as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Their debut, 180, comes out on 2/25/13 via Rough Trade.
