So you can take me to the Dragon's Lair....

Sunset Rubdown - Dragon's Lair...
Cekajuci novo cudo cudesnog decaka Spensercica...

 I menjajuci jazbinu...
I'm sorry that I'm late
I went blind
I got confetti in my eyes
I was held up at yesterday's parties
I was needed on the congo line

But my dear, oh, my dear
I'd like to fight the good fight for another couple of years
'Cause to say the war is over is to say you are a widow...

The Smiths - This night has opened my eyes

FUZZ – FUZZ (2013)

... Sabbath Bloody Sabbath ...

Thank the rock gods for Ty Segall. In a world where bands spend years lingering over the string arrangements on their latest "masterpieces", this 25-year-old Californian singing, surfing guitarist pours forth his patented mix of garage-rock racket, free-ranging psychedelia and pure molten Black Sabbath sludge on an apparently daily basis. In 2012, he released three albums, bringing his yearly average since 2008 to over two-and-half albums per year, not including any of his countless single releases.

Bill Callahan – Ride My Arrow

I don’t ever want to die
Do you know this arrow when it arches high
To meet the eagle in the sky?
The eagle flies using the river as a map
A small animal in its clasp
Alive and enjoying the ride
Is life a ride to ride?
Or a story to shape and confide?
Or chaos neatly denied?

And some people find the taste of pilgrim guts to be too strong
Me, I find I can’t get by without them for too long
Tear out the flesh, tear out the bone
Of anyone who tells you the known is unknown
'Cause life ain’t confidential, no, no, no it’s not
It isn’t and it ain’t confidential, no, no, no
Ride my arrow, ride my arrow, ride my arrow

The land I love is splitting in two again and again and again
War muddies the river and getting out, we’re dirtier than getting in
Ride my arrow, ride my arrow
Ride my arrow, ride my arrow

Nedelja Vece...

Mood indigo (Michel Gondry,2013)

"The surreal and poetic story of a young idealistic and inventive man, Colin, who meets Chloe, a young delicate woman appearing to be the incarnation of a Duke Ellington's blues. Their idyllic marriage turns into bitterness when Chloe falls ill, a water lily growing in her lung. To pay for her care, in a fantasy Paris, Colin must work under increasingly absurd conditions while around them their apartment deteriorates and their group of friends disintegrates. There are hints of social satire and symbolism in this story taken from the book by Boris Vian."

Jonathan Franzen: what's wrong with the modern world

 Odlican tekst za Guardian..

While we are busy tweeting, texting and spending, the world is drifting towards disaster, believes Jonathan Franzen, whose despair at our insatiable technoconsumerism echoes the apocalyptic essays of the satirist Karl Kraus – 'the Great Hater'.

Found Memories (2011) , Julia Murat

A stranger brings some changes -- not all of them welcome -- to a sleepy and forgotten community in this drama from director Julia Murat. Jotuomba is a tiny village in Brazil that has been passed over by time; less than a dozen elderly people still call it home, and their lives are governed by a routine they've followed for ages. Madalena (Sonia Guedes) wakes early each morning to bake bread, and she takes the fresh loaves to a tiny store run by Antonio (Luiz Serra), where they share a cup of coffee and often contentious conversation.

Jonathan Rado – Law and Order (2013)

It’s a welcome change than that, left to his own lo-fi devices, founding Foxygen member Jonathan Rado is apparently intent on using totemic pop forms to expose and accentuate the limits of his own voice, the crudeness of his recording techniques and the petty self-consciousness of his lyrical concerns. Rado’s true talent might be an ability to wrestle with a reverence for and ironic distance from his source material, yet somehow emerge with the sort of winningly selflacerating music that makes up the bulk of Law and Order, his solo debut.Inoffensive as Foxygen is, it’s ultimately difficult to really care whether or not “Pot of Gold” is an impending signal of the band’s implosion. Still, the flawed but fascinating Law and Order is good enough to warrant some hope that Rado continues to wander down his own crooked solo path when he’s not too busy earning nods from mainstream media outlets with his day job.

Mazzy Star – Seasons of Your Day (2013) - JESENJA MAGIJA...................

The Smiths - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now

... spas u zadnji cas ...

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

In my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

Two lovers entwined pass me by
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

In my life
Oh, why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

What she asked of me at the end of the day
Caligula would have blushed

"You've been in the house too long" she said
And I (naturally) fled

In my life
Why do I smile
At people who I'd much rather kick in the eye ?

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now

"You've been in the house too long" she said
And I naturally fled

In my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

Bill Callahan – Dream River (2013)

... I'm the happy man, flying the small plane...
... ALBUM OF THE MONTH & VISHE & SHIRE ...

Dream River, Callahan’s 14th album — or fourth, since dropping the Smog mantle — initially feels of a similar vintage as recent albums like Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle or Apocalypse, as leadoff track “The Sing” moseys in on a slow shuffle and the rustic weep of a violin. There’s a gentle, yet lush Americana arrangement backing Callahan as he paints a portrait of a late night drink in a hotel bar, observing, “The only words I’ve said today are ‘beer’ and ‘thank you.’” Shortly thereafter, Callahan’s drink order becomes an almost Zen-like mantra as he repeats the couplet, “Beer/ thank you.”

Minor Alps – Get There (2013)

Get There is the debut collaborative album from accomplished musicians Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws. Over the last two decades, both have carved out long-lasting — and strikingly independent — careers within a dependably fickle music business, Caws with his now 20-year-old New York City group Nada Surf, and Hatfield with the Boston-reared Blake Babies, the Juliana Hatfield Three, Some Girls, as well as a number of releases under her own name. Along with sharing lead vocals and writing credit on all of Get There's eleven tracks, Matthew and Juliana played every instrument beside the drums, conjuring up an ever-shifting range of sounds and feelings.

Mark Lanegan – Imitations (2013)

 ... A obradio je i Chelsea Wolfe...

On September 17th, Lanegan will release his first effort through Vagrant, a covers album entitled Imitations. Among the 12 tracks, Lanegan tackles Vern Gosdin’s “She’s Gone”, Nancy Sinatra’s “You Only Live Twice”, Nick Cave’s “Brompton Oratory”, and Bobby Darin’s “Mack the Knife”.When I was a kid in the late sixties and early seventies, my parents and their friends would play the records of Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Perry Como, music with string arrangements and men singing songs that sounded sad whether they were or not. At home my folks were also listening to country music, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones and Vern Gosdin were some of our favorites. For a long time I’ve wanted to make a record that gave me the same feeling those old records did, using some of the same tunes I loved as a kid and some that I’ve loved as I have gotten older. This record is it. Imitations.

TV Ghost – Disconnect (2013)

Indiana’s TV Ghost have taken a noticeable turn to the dark side on their newest LP, eschewing much of the wiry, riff-heavy post-punk of their earlier releases for a sound that is infinitely gloomier.
While comparisons to Pere Ubu, the Birthday Party or even a male version of the Slits were fitting in the past, TV Ghost now come off like Echo & the Bunnymen circa ‘Heaven Up Here’ or ‘Porcupine,’ when they were at their most melancholic. The 10 songs on ‘Disconnect’ are awash in reverb-drenched atmospherics and psychedelic instrumentation, carried along at a stoner’s pace by a slow-marching rhythm section and imbued with morbid crooning by frontman Tim Gick.TV Ghost is arguably noisier and more innovative than Interpol and more unsettling than contemporaries Weekend. They’re clearly well versed in the dark post-punk of countless ’80s bands, and with ‘Disconnect,’ they’ve returned with a worthy addition to the record collection of anyone who likes to revel in the gloomier side of rock music.

Grant Hart – The Argument (2013)

... Junkyard dragulj ...

Hüsker Dü co-founder Grant Hart release a new solo album, The Argument via Domino Records. The double album feature 20 songs inspired by John Milton’s 17th Century epic Paradise Lost. As the label explains, actual words from the poem, which regards the Fall of Man, are “rarely quoted directly [but] all of the menace, pain and devotion of Milton’s best loved work are here found.”
Hart was evidently inspired by reading an unpublished William S. Burroughs manuscript called Lost Paradise, which recast the Bible’s fallen angels as alien life-forms and God as 33rd President Harry S. Truman.

Money – The Shadow Of Heaven (2013)

Plavo, gotovo prozirno - Rju Murakami

"Japanska mešavina Paklene pomorandže i Stranca.“
Newsweek

"Plavo, gotovo prozirno“ brutalna je pripovest o izgubljenoj mladosti. Murakami nam snažnim slikama dočarava japanski lučki grad u blizini američke vojne baze i u njemu grupu prijatelja zarobljenih u destruktivnom začaranom krugu seksa, droge i rokenrola. Roman gotovo i da nema zaplet, ali sirova i često nasilna proza potpuno oživljava ove likove i njihova iskustva pred našim očima, i vodi nas u vrtoglavu vožnju kroz stvarnost i halucinacije, njihove uspone i padove... Zatočeni i zapravo pasivni, oni u svojim pustolovinama ne nalaze ni strasti, ni uzbuđenja. A opet, iz tog otuđenja, dosade i potiskivanog gneva i tuge izranja, tiha i neobična, lepota koja čitaoca gotovo podjednako prenerazi.

Richard Buckner – Surrounded (2013)

In the time since Our Blood was released and after a few long tours, Richard Buckner attempted to work on writing short stories but found himself drawn back into the music room. The evidence of his time in the writer’s chair is clear in the dense, lovely prose of Surrounded. The album’s liner notes include text-embedded lyrics, a technique Buckner employed on his earlier albums Since and Impasse, but this marks the first time he used the songs’ extended story to construct the album’s overall view and track sequence.Throwing out the “tricks and trades” of his previous efforts, Buckner hunkered down at home and chose a few unfamiliar pieces of gear—a Suzuki QChord electronic autoharp and an Electro-Harmonix POG2 pedal—to create basic tracks and open up more sonic possibilities. “The best outcomes happen sometimes when I’m unfamiliar with the tool that I’m using (imagine MacGyver wearing a dog cone).”
